The note

The transmissions in this are the same ones carried live by every network on earth in July 1969, here assembled by the agency that recorded them. It sits deliberately alongside the Apollo shelf in A Century on the Air: that one is how the world heard it, this is how NASA chose to tell it. As a work of the United States government it is free of copyright.
